SHOES

Sketchers Non-Slip Shoes

If you want a shoe that will allow some give to prevent blisters and allow for foot swelling while still providing support, this shoe is worth checking out!  There are several solid models, but my all around favorite that I have purchased multiple times is the Cozard SR in wide width.

Under $100!

Dankso

If you want a solid shoe that will last a long time, are comfortable, and provide a good deal of shock absorption to ease joint pain, Dankso (XP 2.0 or Professional models) are worth checking out. They come in basic black or a variety of fun prints and colors.  These shoes run narrow and a wide width is highly recommended.  They do require some breaking in to loosen up the leather, and it is recommended to wear them around the house a bit before taking them on a long haul.  I also was unable to comfortably fit these until I reached about 250 pounds at 5 foot 5.

Around $120

No Bull Knit Runners

This is a newer shoe company that I found and have watched the shoe I love grow to more than 10,000 5 star reviews! Specifically, obsessed with their knit runner available for men and women.  It's great for wider feet and has a lot of stretch and breathability while also giving a lot of support.  No blisters! This is an expensive recommendation at $159, but I walked more than 1,000 miles in my pair in the past 2 years, and they are still in excellent shape!  Also comes in a variety of colors!

$159

TOOLS

Taking Measurements

Sometimes the scale doesn't tell the full truth, and taking your measurements will give you an additional layer of insight. What can you do if you don't have a cloth measuring tape? Use string or yarn and measure it with a home tape measure!

SheFit

This one is for the girls! Do you struggle to find enough support from a bra? After trying numerous bras on my journey, this bra company popped up, and it's my go to! Due to the way they do their sizing, I can also use the bra for longer when changing sizes.

Kinesio Tape

Do you want to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles as you lose weight? Kinesio tape is inexpensive and available online or at your local pharmacy. A plentitude of free guides online will help you learn how to apply the tape in what circumstances for the best results.

Epsom Salt

Do you want to relax muscles and relieve aches and pains after increased activity? Soaking with epsom salt can help you recuperate faster. Consider adding apple cider vinegar, ginger or essential oils to your soak for extra impact. You can keep it simple with a $5 bag or concoct your own recipe.

(If you are over size 22, check out Gwynnie Bee as an alternative! Disclaimer: I usually only recommend things I have tried.  I have tried Rent the Runway, but not Gwynnie Bee although I have heard good things about them.)
